HORMONES TEST
Put a check mark next to each symptom that you have. (If you check off the same symptoms in more than one group, that's fine.)
If you have checked two or more boxes in a group, read below, or on the right side, to find out what type of hormonal imbalance you may have and what "natural suggestion" we suggest. This test was prepared by Dr. John Lee M.D. (see reference to his excellent books below).
The "Natural Suggestions" are recommended by Béatrice Duplantier-Rhea MH., N.D.

PROGESTERONE DEFICIENCY
This is the most common hormone imbalance among women of all ages. You may need to change your diet, get off of synthetic hormones (including birth control pills)
You may need to use some progesterone cream.
This hormone imbalance is most common in menopausal women; especially if you are petite and/or slim.
You may need to make some special changes to your diet; take some women's herbs; and some women may even need a little bit of natural estrogen (about one-tenth the dose prescribed by most doctors).
EXCESS ESTROGEN
In women, this is most often solved by getting off of the conventional synthetic hormones most often prescribed by doctors for menopausal women.
This is caused when you don't have enough progesterone to balance the effects of estrogen. Thus, you can have low estrogen but if you have even lower progesterone, you can have symptoms of estrogen dominance. Many women between the ages of 40 and 50 suffer from estrogen dominance.
GROUP 5 (Excess androgens)

INDICATIONS

Mid-cycle pain
Infertility

Ovarian cysts

EXCESS ANDROGENS
(Male hormones) This is most often caused by too much sugar and simple carbohydrates in the diet.
CORTISOL DEFICIENCY This is caused by tired adrenals, which is usually caused by chronic stress.
If you're trying to juggle a job and a family, chances are good you have tired adrenals.
PreMenopausal Symptoms, endometriosis, weight gain, low sex drive, fibrocystic breasts, heart disease, and osteoporosis- most women will experience these or other hormone-related problems.
And today, millions of women concerned about aging must decide whether or not to undergo synthetic hormone replacement therapy and suffer its side effects and increased risks of cancer. But there is revolutionary news about completely safe, natural progesterone, the only hormone supplement women may need as they age.
The exciting clinical findings from its use were first spread by word of mouth, then in a groundbreaking book written by acclaimed California physician John R. Lee.
Now, in this expanded and completely updated edition, Dr. Lee brings you lifesaving facts that even your doctor may not know about Premarin, Provera, and other HRT drugs; gives you an easy-to-follow nonprescription "Hormone Balance" program; and tells you how to stay energized, strong, sexually vigorous, and free from "female problems" before menopause, during the menopausal years, and beyond.
"JOHN LEE HAS PIONEERED WORK IN WOMEN'S HEALTH THAT HAS GREATLY INFLUENCED AND ENHANCED THE WAY I PRACTICE MEDICINE."- CHRISTIANE NORTHRUP, MD, AUTHOR OF WOMEN'S BODIES, WOMEN'S WISDOM.
